Been watching episode 4 again and I've spotted something that may or may not be relevant:

The DAF frame is (I think) constant section height.

The Ford frame narrows in height underneath the cab - i.e. it is taller underneath the rear spring hangers than the front ones. The top of the frame remains horizontal but there is a small slope somewhere near the anti roll bar end mounting points.

The DAF front hangers have been bolted on to the Cargo, without any additional spacers to drop them down.

This looks like it would make the leaf springs point ever so slightly skyward at the front as compared with the DAF - although the links at the rear (of the front springs - not the rear springs mind) will presumably wobble forward the required amount to allow the bolts to fit.

Probably square root of f all but my inner geek felt the point should be raised. Or lowered. Or something.confuse

And another thing:
Engine mounting brackets needed 20mm lateral spacers either side and front spring hangers were reversed for the same reason.
No mention or sign of spacing for brace between rear hangers.

How come? What did I miss? Does the Ford frame taper behind the engine mounts - or is this a performance enhancement?
