Did you put the idea on ice or did you decide it would be to time consuming to go through with?
Would gladly give £10 for seeing this project be built now that i've been following project binky the last year :)

As if Binky wasn't enough? when will it be finished? 2030?

I'll gladly give 10 Pounds for a chance of winning a Caterham that has been built by BOM. I'll gladly give 20 Pounds for 2 chances (out of say 4000) for winning that lottery. :)
I hope Binky will be finished soon, although real project cars are never finished, but I'll eat strawberry flavoured underwear if it is finished this year.

I'd gladly give 10 to watch a Caterham Series Build. I don't know if I could afford to win though, being I am in Southern California.

Don't you worry about that Mr Cat - I'll look after it and you can drive it as much as you like when you visit!
Happy to help!

We've got a new plan for series 2 that won't cost you a penny.
Series 3 however....

Thank you Mr. Forsh!
That solves freight, California Emissions, and parking, would you be willing to go halves on taxes (This would effectively double my income for the year) and registration?
(I do like our odds, of roughly 70K YouTube subs, there are only187 BOM forum members. Of which only a dozen or so are active!)

I saw this www.smythkitcars.com/ and think this is a wonderful second project for Rick and Nik. Putting the Mini drivetrain into the Celica and turning it into an Ute. Evil laugh. :)

Given BOMs evidence 205Gti fixation, what about a 205T16 homage, Shropshire stylee?

If we are talking Group B rally cars why not stick with the Brit theme and go 6R4?
However the T16 was also rather special... Didn't one of the other posts mention seeing a Lancia badge though?

We're sworn to secrecy for a while. Got to finish Binky first, then we have a number of options to consider.

As a life long manic-mechanic, I've always wanted to build my own car. Not a racer or hot-rod or like that ... but a real automobile.
Ron Champion's book about building a Super Seven clone (The Lowcost Seven) was a revelation for a tinkerer like me. I've also chased a pencil around a piece of paper putting together my version of the Moggie Trike.
Although I'd seen it before, last week or so Jay Leno put up another vid on his 1930 Shotwell, but this time in deeper depth: www.youtube.com/watch The guy that build it put over 150,000 miles (not kilo-meters because we don't have any of those over here, but I digress)
You could build a neat little car like that back in the 19and30's because we had a better grade of junk down at the yards back then. Due to "Cash for Clunkers" and the high prices China was paying for scrap all we get now is plastic junk.
anyoldways, I love the art-deco swoopy-ness of the Shotwell,. Neat little engine as well.

re Edwardrf idea , its been done , mid mouted 850 cc mini engine and gearbox in a ser111 , didn't go very fast but would go anywhere you pointed it . also a thing called a goblin , same idea using landy chassis and axles (welded up )with 1300 ish cc mini eng/box with a forword control setup and tray back sitting on low ground pressure tyres.
I think that your next project should be something of a sleeper (lots of go in somit that shouldn't have lots of go )along the lines of upto date version of 70's fords supervan road legal of course .

Hi Landranger, thanks a lot! could you please share a link if that project could be find on the internet, it does sound interesting, and certainly would like to take a look! These guys had made me so horny for car mod videos while waiting for their next installment, i virtually finished all available car mod videos on youtube (with great disappointment of course, none were even close)
Project binky has pushed the classic method of fabrication to an extreme, it made all the youtube videos on engine swap or car upgrades look like a bunch of kids playing with toys. (Yes, i am talking about the aussies). A sleeper would be an awesome idea especially fitting the British humbleness. But i just personally don't think it wouldn't be as great a challenge as fitting a toyata celica into a miin...
