Like most enthusiastic hobbyists I have a fair collection of tools to do nearly everything - probably beyond any talent I may have but hey what's the worst that can happen??!
So in episode 12 we see the appearance of a new toy the SIP tig welder - mmmmmmmm shiny
I've been thinking about getting one for some time for aluminium and stainless welding. My question is this - has anyone got any first hand experience with the
modestly priced Stahlwerk multi function machine as advertised on ebay -
I'm a born sceptic and firmly believe "you get what you pay for" but occasionally I've been proved wrong, i owned a sip mig welder and frankly it was cr*p, endless
wire feed problems, I know it's a different setup with tig but once bitten.... and it wasn't cheap!
So can anyone say yes it's fine for hobby use or no it breaks down after 20 minutes?? Encouragingly it has a 5 year rtb warranty - but they're based in Germany and you have to pay postage
Any clues/comments much appreciated

I know strictly speaking it's a MIG welding forum but it seams to be frequented by knowledgeable and helpful people...

...at least you won't have any wire feed problems with a cheap TIG machine ;)
