I didn't mean to post such a conversation stopper, honest.
They keep posting little teasers of progress on Twitter etc and it would be really nice to see them.
I suppose the project is a bit of a victim of its own success. The car is so epic, there's a bit of a pressure to make the videos be equally polished. Much of the charm of the earlier ones was that it looked like they were happy to make them even if there were no audience (as if!!).
Ah well, it'll be all over by Christmas. Not sure which Christmas though.
In the mean time, please post a picture of the dash, Rich. Go on.
This isn't the video we had planned but episode 37 of "The Never 'kin Ending Story" is very tentatively pencilled in for Friday 17th December for our patrons and Saturday 18th for everyone

Some say a Black Hole has materialized in Shropshire. Experts believed the cause to be the implosion of a small white automobile that was inadvertently sucked up it's own turbo charger intake due to the intake pipe being loose and without a securing bracket.
The increase in gravitational pull has had marked side affects, causing nearby projects to creep at a snails pace.......
All Medial outlets have been Silenced to stop any panic buying of grinder discs......
Happy Where's Binky Day

Perhaps they're waiting for a tank of petrol to cost the same as they've spent on the rest of the car.
Any day now...

I visit this site every two weeks or so, having watched the previous 37 episodes with great joy. I’m getting increasingly worried that Binky will never be finished. Tell us, without being flippant, when you think, realistically, the next episode will materialise. I’m not worried if it’s still a month or three in the future, but I’m sure some indication of progress would be much appreciated by all of Binky’s fans!!
Cheers!

Indication of progress is Tweets from Rich about the overly complex (obvs) dash board with infinite back light colour options and a recent post about the Canon camera crapping it's self
Wouldn't like to suggest when but all is not lost and the next episode will be within the framework of a cost effective time-window!

Hi Russ,
We've seen some extended dry spells before, but the guys always come through. (The trailer for Project Binky posted on Jun 14, 2013, there have been 37 episodes so far, that's 111 months / 37 episodes = 3 months give or take per episode.)
Twitter posts by Richard suggesting the editing for episode 38 is in the edit suite!
If I may be so bold I'm gonna suggest.... before Christmas! - there I've said it now - you heard it here first!

But that's just it. We aren't asking for the "polished" videos they seem to think we are. We (at least I) want to see the nitty-gritty real-life stuff, warts and all. In the "Escargo" style if need be.
In fact, my biggest concern is that they have burned out on the whole YouTube video thing. That would be understandable but a real shame.

I just checked the BOM Forum Users List, and the last time anyone from BOM "signed in" was Mar 19, 2020! There's no way to know if they've checked in as a "Guest," though.

I was once lucky enough to bump into Gordon Murray in a pub and got chatting to him about the "Driving Ambition" book he did on the McLaren F1; He said it seemed to take more effort than making the car and made otherwise pleasurable milestones less pleasurable by the need to remember to capture content for the book. This was in the days when you didn't have every Tom, Dick & Harry complaining that they haven't got sufficient value for their more than generous Patreon contribution.
It is probably inevitable that guys that make cars like Binky set themselves very high standards for the documentation. Like you, I'd be happy with a camera sat in the corner of the garage permanently streaming - but it's not my project! :)
Looking forward to seeing these dash clocks.

Me too! After being a mechanic from 1982 to 2020, I have had my share of dash re-wire jobs over the years. And prior to that, I made Printed Circuit Boards for a living. I hand-made short-run PCBs in 1981. I've even had handmade, Aluminum Core (sorry, not sorry! I am a Yank!) Circuit boards on one of the Space Shuttles. (They were for an undisclosed experiment. I've no idea which shuttle it flew on.)
So yea, I'm very curious about both the circuit design and the manufacturing process! I've said it before. I am concerned about how well the solder will stay adhered to the FR4, even with the assistance of the blue epoxy coating.
I've been following another madman on YouTube, Aaron Cake.
Aaron spent 2020-2022 converting the mechanical gages on his 1976 Mazda RX-5 Cosmo to Programmable Analog versions with stepper motors that look mostly original. His channel is worth a look.

I have a couple of weeks off work soon... lets see if I can "finish" my Lego Binky before they finish the real one!
Either way, I really enjoyed the gag reel, if for nothing else but a reminder about how far this project has come
