Binky is DEATH's horse, not the Devil. Anyway, if I'm right, that suggests it should be matt black with no colour or brightwork. And driven wearing a black hoodie. Up. A scythe would be taking it a bit far, I think....

I think you'll find that the Discworld Binky is actually white.

If Binky is a Discworld reference then that makes the Bad Obsession blokes even more excellent than previously thought!

It's totally a Discworld reference. Planned from the very first musings on the idea many moons ago.

Looking forward to the "My Little Binky" gift set then!

Never heard of Discworld before but had to investigate base alone on deaths horse being named "Binky"

I've just started book 1 and am thankfull to this thread for enlightening me to it's existence.

I've enjoyed it thoroughly so far.

Z Karma

Please get this right. Binky is DEATH's horse. Death is just, well, death, and has no horse.

ahh, well i'm not that far into it so (twoflower just summoned a dragon)
so where and how the reference appears is still unknown.
Also, i'm listening to the audio book version while at work.
The voice acting really adds another dimension, as it were.

Z_Karma, where did you get the audio book? Audible.com shows "The Colour of Magic: Discworld 1" as "unavailable" when I sign in to buy it. Thanks

I didn't find it there either.
There is a .torrent out there containing 39 of the 41 books.
A coworker with a much faster internet connection than mine helped me.

If you're not up on that, you might try your local public library

Aah yes, 'Ninereeds'.  You will first see that Death has a horse in "the Light Fantastic" (book 2), but you only find out the horses name in "Mort" (book 4).  You have a lot of fun in front of you - welcome to the discworld (You will eventually discover what my signature is all about too).

This is the original Binky being ridden by DEATH himself.

Rich references the Discworld novels when he mentions Rincewind in Episode 11. It is about 16 minutes into the episode when they fabricate the passenger seat mounts.

Riffling around on the Net, I discover that a 'Binky' is also a rabbit expression of happiness:

language.rabbitspeak.com/did-you-say-binky/

www.youtube.com/watch

That puts a different slant on it.... I suspect ppl won't thank me for this

Let's pray the car doesn't start hopping and bucking like that, despite how cute it can be.

Some toe-out, stiffish rear springs and no damping should achieve that

So we now know what colour Binky will be. I suppose I should read Discworld, great writer was Terry. I've only ever read the original carpet people, my copy is a first edition signed copy...
