Link G4 RX

Dear BOM (and forum members),

I've been rebuilding my RX7 from the ground up, and the time has come to look for an adequate ECU. I found several, but none that was made specifically for a rotary engine, except for the G4 RX. My question is; Does anyone have experience with this particular ECU? It does seem to support a great deal of functions etc., but how does this compare to let's say an Apex' i? If anyone can help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated,

Regards,

Don

Hi Don,

The Link G4 RX was designed and built from the ground up as an ECU specifically for the Mazda rotary engine and as such includes features that other manufacturers don't.

Have a quick look at this PDF for a list of specifications: Link G4 RX

If you need more info, please let us know.

Thanks BOM,

The pdf did help a lot for me, as I suspected the Link is the way to go. If I were to order this from your company, would you be able to install and map it? If possible, I would really appreciate an approximate quote on that.

With regards,

Don

Not trying to take any potential business away from BOM, however Adaptronic do plug and play ECU's for various RX7 models. I personally use their ECU and am very happy with it as well, so that is another option.

just joined and I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents worth ( Aussie saying)

I've use the now out dated Vi-pec V-88 on my rally car for years now and  can recommend the 'Link" company, ( although Ray Hall has retired from the company) the only issue I've ever had was caused by the first tuner not setting a boost limit on the second tune

( switched via a pedal switch)  and blowing the bottom end out of the car by attempting to allow 52lb of boost into the new 2 litre engine in only it's second rally ( the ecu only records to 52lbs)

Regards Trevor
