So my current baby is my black '02 Subie Forester, the ultimate in dyke-mobiles, but an absolutely great car.

Except for the transmission. And the brakes. And the cracked windshield. And the cracked moonroof. And the minor body damage...

(some considerable time later)

So anyway, I've already replaced the radiator with, ya know, a not-so-leaking one. This weekend I plan to upgrade the rear brakes to the ones from the 2005 Legacy GT, the biggest and thickest rotors available that are a direct swap, and with that, swap to SS brake lines. The car's off the road now, so I don't know if I'll bother bleeding it now since I've got to do the front brakes too at some point. Those will be from the Forester XT for now, since the stock 16" wheels don't quite allow for the LGT's front brake setup.

I'll also be swapping out the rear sway bar for one from a WRX, as well as the bushings with polyurethane, and similarly upgrading the front bushings.

I have several bushing upgrade kits in my possession as well now, which will be going in as time and access allows.

Also tomorrow, a new section of exhaust which was partly rotted out, replaced (poorly), and now leaks exhaust into the car... which is probably why I thought this car was such a bargain when I bought it. We're not going there, though. :P  I'll also be installing 9011 bulbs in place of the 9005s in my fog lights, which should provide a fair bit more illumination for the road.

Possible extra projects for tomorrow include removing the mud flaps so that they can be thoroughly degreased and painted, as well as polishing my fog light lenses (the headlights are already done), sanding down and respraying my wiper arms, and stripping the passenger seat's fabric so it can be washed and replaced (original owner seems to have loved his pets).

Anyway, more future upgrades hopefully include the '05 era LGT engine and running gear, a full sound deadening job, and possibly a conversion to a JDM Forester STi interior, or at least the seats and door cards.

Pictures? Maybe, depending on how much work I get done on it tomorrow.
