I did spot some bother for you later on. The fuel sender unit "float stick" will stick out of the bottom of the tank when it's empty and it will hit the internal baffle when it's full. :(

Nick rejected steel as the material for the fuel tank, because he was "unsure of its long term exposure to": Toluene? Toiling? t'oiling??? Toy Ling???? (well known Chinese rally driver)
I thought he was talking about Toulene which is sometimes added to fuel to boost octane rating.

John, the mechanical engineer in me kicked in and I had a look at the material safety sheet for toluene (methyl benzene) and I can't work that out either, the recommended material for storage or cladding the storage container is mild steel or cr steel and most definitely not aluminium.
Come on guys, what is the problem you are trying to avoid?
