As we all know the journey of Project Binky has been outstanding!

But with Binky now stripped and off on his jollies to the paint shop what of all the outstanding issues

Arch bucks are being remade

Wheels are just "proof of concept"

Manifold is being ceramic coated but what of the rest of the turbo set up and air intake/charge cooler

Engine is from the scrap yard - how much work has been done on the original?

Full running gear refresh/prettification

The Binky story still has some way to go it would seem and wont be a simple bolt-it-all-back-together project in the new year

Wait, what? Off to the paint shop? Have I missed an episode here, last I heard Nic was teasing us about looking forward to something which I had guessed had to be the arch bucks...

Anyone recall what was happening with the steering linkage/ track rods at the wheel end?
Seem to remember they were on temporary(?) extensions

Permanent brackets were welded (carefully) to the dampers, replacing the temporary threaded risers bolted to the steering arms on the hub casting.

I'd hazard a guess that it will be Rich on bass and vocals with Nik on drums/percussion. I have no idea what they'll do about guitar.

So, nothing about the arch bucks or wheels just yet; or paint colour for that matter

Not until now. They are spacing out the sump to add capacity and the sump wing kinda sits in the airflow so they haven't entirely ignored the issue.

Following a quick Google after watching the MightyCarMods RB26 GTR engine install in their 240z,
It seams the GT4 had a similar oil/water heat exchanger that relies on the coolant to remove heat from the oil
I'm guessing the uprated coolant radiator will do the trick?

The paint colour for Binky was discussed at length a while ago/ Binky is DEATH's horse, and is white.

So, the car has to be white

That fits with the plan to keep it as original as possible.

That's obviously why they chose a white donor car

"Donor car"? This was a minor mechanical upgrade combined with some rust repair. A little fettling here and there but "donor"? blankstare

(At least that's how I'm anticipating it being presented to DVLA when they apply to revoke the SORN.biggrin)
