Tell you what folks, that colour chosen for the powder coating looked very retro to me, put me in mind of some of the original Mk1 Mini colours. Wonder if we have been given a bit of a hint here?

I thought that too. Would you care to hazard a guess at the colour code/spec for that grey?
Green passivating is a new one on me too - though on reflection, I've probably seen it on farmer's fence post fittings.
I like how they made their own Special Service Tool (SST). I have my own version of SST 09843-18020 (diagnosis check wire used for shorting terminals on the diagnostic connector) which is just a bent paperclip.

Yeah, green passivation has better corrosion resistance for some reason (as does black); I’m a Manufacturing Engineer by trade so I’m supposed to know about this (But I had to google it).
As for the colour of the grey I really have no idea, it just screams late 50’s/early 60’s though.
you also notice the subtle change of wheel stud length? That was passed over as almost a minor change; if we have come to expect anything from the boys at bom it is that nothing is done without a really clever explanation later on. We are finally going to see what the final plans for the wheels are now!

Yes, clocked the studs. This suggests to my simple little brain that they plan to fit something thicker than steel wheels - ie alloys. *Which* alloys is another question entirely - one which I'm uniquely unqualified to speculate on.
I suspect that the brakes are unlikely to be a garish hue. Somehow even red now seems pretty non-Binky.
Thanks for the info on passivation (if that's the right term - my dumb spell-checker didn't like it). In the past, I've merrily wire-wheeled away all the yellow stuff along with spots of surface rust without stopping to think that I was actually accelerating the corrosion.
There also seemed to be quite a few PU bushes in the drive train. Hope it doesn't take all their fillings out. I'm sure Richard did the maths.
