Here it is, my 1981 volvo 242 DL turbo 16v project i am working on right now.
In my mind i already had a soft spot for these brick like bundles of joy, and also i already have built an ordinary 240 GL turbo a few years ago and used it as my daily driver.
The plan for this thing is to make it into a perfect street car.
I want to completely take it apart, which i already started, then remove all the rust and weld it all back together, plus, i want to bin the solid rear axle in favour of a toyota/lexus ls400 independent rear suspension for the ability to fully adjust the geometry in the rear.
The plan for the engine is a volvo redblock b230 engine with a 16v cylinder head, that volvo has never doe as it was only a 2.0 16v turbo that they did, and also strap a huge turbo on it for the added bonus.
Anyway, here's what i have been upto!!
Started doing a little documentary of what's happening in the garage!
May the 4th be with you all!
Cheers!

Welcome!
Should be easy enough, Volvo sold a B234F here in the states, it came in the 700 series cars. Lots of videos of the B234F turbo-ed on YouTube.
Looking forward to updates, good luck!

Can someone help? I would love to embed the youtube links in my posts. Is it working o this forum?
The b234 head is already acquired and will be ported and polished in due course, when i will have the time to think about the engine, but until it all happens, there's too much to do still!
In EP#4 At the 4:20 mark while taking off the rear bumper, you had me in a serious pucker when the car started to move! Might want to do some cribbing ALA 'AvE' instead of the jack stands.

Hey buddy! Cheers for input! I know it looked a bit out of hand, but it's all safe and sound in the moving side of things. You can actually put your feet against the wall next to it and try move it and it wouldn't go anywhere. I did try it and it was all great.
Cheers!
