suspension rates/firmness

I'm thinking, since the Binky bodyshell (even with all the strengthening material added) will be "a little bit lighter" than the GT-4 will the suspension not be too firm for everyday road use? Sorry for asking such as stupid question. :)

Well he did mention he changed the spring rates when he got hold of the car, however i fear that these will not be sufficient due to the weight of the vehicle or lack thereof.

Yes, Nik mentioned raising the car by installing a lowering kit. Spring rates (springs) adjust the ride height, the shock absorbers (dampers) adjust the firmness of the suspension. Better quality lowering kits come with shorter, stiffer springs and often come with firmer dampers than original so Binky might have firmer dampers, stiffer springs and lighter body.
The rear suspension towers have been leaned slightly inwards, making them slightly softer but probably not noticably. To soften the suspension you need softer shock absorbers and Nik has just welded the steering arm thingies to the front shock absorbers.
I'm sure they have a plan, I'm just curious what it is. It wouldn't surprise me if Yaris dampers or similar happened to be a drop-in and bolt-it solution. :)

I was thinking 2002-2006 Honda CR-V Front Strut might work as a drop-in solution.
