Greeting from the "colonies",

The vents you pressed in the "scuttle panel"are both elegant and attractive.  I was wondering what else might be done to cool the engine compartment.   I assume that the extra space in the "wings" cant be used for plumbing or auxiliaries do to the epic articulation of the front clip.  That being said, are you considering using that space it install extra cooling fans?

Best wishes from across the pond,

Longus

The "epic articulation" will lead to epic plumbing for those flip away radiators. And he still has to find room for an A/C condensor.

As far as I can tell, the radiators are fixed in position, and do not move when the front is flipped open. Just think, if they were mounted on the bodywork, you would have to de-couple them when the front is removed. Now that would be an epic hose system.

Nik stated that A/C was v desirable but not essential. He'll be doing well if he manages to get the turbo and manifolds tucked in under the bonnet. I wonder if he has thought of alternative locations for an A/C rad?

I was looking at the video (forgot which one, sorry) and I'm wondering if there is still room for the compressor between the block and the front crossbar/radiator? Also, I think the condenser could be placed behind either the right or left headlight. It wouldn't have to be very large, maybe 2sq/ft surface area? Another question, where in the dash would the evaporator go? Are/were there retrofit kits for the Mini?

There might be room for an A/C rad above the gearbox. Venting under-bonnet air into the left wheel well, say?

With a dedicated electric fan I suppose it could even be in the boot.

If there's any room left over, we may take a look at the a/c.
