As far as I know I am the only person in the Cape Town area who restores Imps?
There are only three of them anyway, one is a 1967 Hillman Imp that was built out here, the VIN plate is WSO marked meaning an export car, it could have been shipped out built up but I doubt it?
Another is my own 1967 Hillman Imp Californian, that was built in Scotland dated February 3rd and marked with an RSO vin plate number, meaning it was export bound and it was found with Mozambique plates on it, plus the speedo is marked in kilometres too.
The other one is a later 1972 Hillman Imp Deluxe, the car was built in Scotland and has a HSO vin plate number ( home saloon )
The car was given a very complete restoration about two years back.
At various times I have owned all of the above cars.
