What do we have in store to make this delightful little Mini tootle along the country lanes?

Starting with a base of Toyota 2 litre Turbo 3S-GTE engine with 200bhp & 200lbft

Fast Car suggest...

300bhp possible with the standard turbo and injectors.

Upgrades we know about already is the turbo, swapped for something smaller and more efficient.

and the drain pipe 3" 'zorst doesn't look like it'll provide too much resistance

I'm guessing Link engine management - obviously!

Forged pistons/rods?

bit of head work

Cams? mild and not too peaky

AT Throttle bodies?

10-15psi boost

So I'm thinking that outright BHP is irrelevant - as the old saying goes - "you buy bhp but you drive torque

I'll put a couple of pence on a 50% hike in power - 300bhp - 300lbft?

for a nice conservative, reliable, driveable, economical!?!no  every day car

smile

Purely speculation, conjecture and extreme guess work of course but I was thinking road car

Add into the equation "We’re trying to create one of the fastest Minis on the planet." & "Building the heart of the car is what makes us tick." and the fact you get 200+bhp out of a 1.6 n/a Pug and suddenly 300bhp doesn't seem "all that!"

Something to look forward to that for sure!

:)

If you want TORQUE throw out everything and start again. According to Mr Llewellyn there is only one REAL source of TORQUE. Go electric and there's an end to it.
