It's starting to look quite fabulous.

There will not be one space cm^3 in that engine bay though and I fear the windscreen will melt when those punched vents start ducting the bay cooling air through them.

Here's one car that will never have frozen washer jets (or a cat lying on the bonnet after parking up).

I am really curious about what will happen to the bonnet area now, they mentioned some expected space issues in this episode. But I know that they will come up with some excellent engineering solution as always :)

Don’t forget that just before paint they Unexpectedly created more space under that bonnet; obviously that piece of ratty wood was the correct dimension/stand in for the injectors and turbo

The lump of wood was charge cooler

between the turbo exit and new throttle body inlet

I was surprised to see the use of a paddle clutch though.

Nasty things and would never use one in a road car. Looks like a hell of a mission to change the clutch so fitted for longevity?

Speaking of POWER!

I've read the standard throttle body is good for upto 450bhp and the Garrett GTX3582R is rated for 450-850bhp and you need to keep an eye on the 3sgte Gen2 block above 650bhp

So we are looking at a window between 450-650bhp

Comparisons being difficult as performance is dictated as much by gear ratios as engine output but in the all wheel drive category

A45s AMG weighs in at over 1635kg knocks out 421bhp and hits 62 in 3.9s, 168mph terminal velocity

Lambo Gallardo superleggera weighs 1340kg and puts down 562bhp and hit 100kmh in 3.2s, 204mph max

Unfortunately 0-60 (or 62.5 if you must) (and top speed) is meaningless when a car is this quick with DSG and auto 'boxes and tyre grip playing a massive part off the line - it's the 1/4 mile times that shows a better measure of performance

A45S 12.6s

Lambo 11.7s

it will be nice to see Binky in the 10's

wink
